Lechlade & District Lions are looking to reward the efforts of young people, who have drive and ambition and who, in addition to their education, devote some of their own time to Voluntary and Charity work in their Community.

The scheme will be advertised with some colourful, eye catching Posters in Lechlade, Fairford and Faringdon early in 2012, when Lions will be meeting with representatives from local Schools, Youth Clubs, Scouts, Guides, Churches etc. to seek their help in promoting the Award and encouraging young people to enter this award scheme.

Lions will be inviting representatives from relevant local organisations to join them on an Interview Board, which will consider applications and hear presentations from selected candidates.

On the Award evening, the winner will be asked to make a short presentation on his/her achievements to date, aspirations for the future and the work of his/her nominated charity.

The Award will be £50 in Book Tokens plus a Trophy to the Winner and £200 to donate to their chosen Charity. The runners up will each receive a Certificate of Merit and a gift.

The winner will be eligible and encouraged, to enter for the Lions National ‘Young Ambassador of the 21st Century’ Award.
