Lions' Welfare Activities

Lechlade Lions are always active in the local community.

We use our funds to help a variety of individuals and groups within the  community.  The two main areas are helping local young people and  the senior citizens. We often make donations to youth groups such as local Scouts and Brownies as well as many of the local playgroups and schools.  We have provided  financial support to young individuals taking part in challenges like Operation Raleigh and walking the Great Wall of China.

With our area being a rural one a significant portion of our funds are taken in providing a community minibus which is used by local organizations.

After one of our Members visited Vukani School in Kenya we have been able to help them in a number of ways.

Every year, in early January when the post Christmas blues are setting in, we run a Senior Citizen's party for  Lechlade, Fairford and the surrounding villages.

If you are in Lechlade a few days before Christmas you will see us up  the top of ladders putting up the Christmas trees and lights.  When the evening of the official switch on arrives we are there again helping the event run smoothly.
