The Annual Senior Citizens' Christmas Party
Every year in mid January, when the post Christmas blues are setting in, Lechlade and District Lions club hosts parties for all the Senior Citizens of the area. Two parties take place at the same time in Lechlade and Fairford with about 100 guests at each. There is lots of entertainment with a stage show of such things as tap dancing and singing. We have bingo and general knowledge games. Everyone gets a glass of sherry on arrival and a hearty tea during the afternoon. Even the transport is laid on. We always end the afternoon with a good old singsong that gets everybody involved.
